Uhh... Non parlo italiano... but I sing it very well!  I had to learn to roll my tongue just to sing in Italian.  :D

I think the first song that any classically trained singer learns is Guiseppe Giordiano's "Caro Mio Ben"

Actually, much as I love that song, no.  It is a Soprano piece, and I'm a Contralto.  I saw the Opera recently too!

My solo repertoire isn't that broad.  I was classically trained but that was years and years AND years ago.

Sylvene - contralto sounds for sure very very warm !!! (btw: I think I am bariton already - lol)
And Myowyn - she was a goddess ! With a very difficult personality, very depressive - IŽd say you can compare her to women like Gracia de Monaco, Romy Schneider, Marilyn Monroe, Lady Di perhaps - great beautiful thinking sensitive women who couldnt manage their life, their fame, their image.

Oh that's a pity! I didn't know that!  I wonder why they were so depressive!

I think they were captured in a golden cage - means: their image, the role they had to play.
And with La Callas it was love as well - most of the time she was love sick in her life because of Onassis, the greek bugger :-)

Oh yeah right she was with him, then after her it was Kennedy's wife (after his death) Onasis looked so strange! Like in the mafia!
