I would love to talk, but when I am online it is in the middle of the night everywhere else! The clock here on this site shows 02:46 AM, but when I write this it is 09:46 AM....

ladyblue, you can change the time of the forum in your profile.  Set it to your own time and you will see the date and time of all posts in your local time.  :)

I'm hanging out in the Chatterley today.  If I don't talk right away... be a little patient.  I'll get there eventually.  :D

Me and Bluejay are in Chatterley now.  Others have been in and out all day.  Come on in!

Well, I would stop by and say hello (whilst watching the unfolding story of the pirates holding the US cargo captain hostage) . . . but I can't figure out how to get past the code of conduct page!

Lighty, you just type in a username and make up a password and click the enter button. You can skip the Profile block unless you want to enter something short and perhaps snarky about yourself.

It doesn't give me any clickable/fillable/interactive options on the code of conduct page, Sable - sob . . .

There's a largish > above the 'code of conduct' title.

Ooooo, that means you don't have Java on your computer.  Chatterley runs on Java.  Just get the latest download of Java installed, its free, and it should work.

http://www.java.com is where you need to go, Lighty.

Just heard from Exbill.  If you have Vista... the latest version of Java won't let you in.  Something to do with the way Vista and Java works together.

No can do.  I have an older version of Java, but the new version interferes with my online course management software.  Bloody pain in the arse, and many weeks with the tech people to even figure out that it was causing the problems.  Since that's my real job, I guess I'll have to leave you ladies to the chatting!

Ah, well.

Use a different browser.  If you use IE for your online course management, use Firefox for surfing / chatting.

The only reason IE is on my computer is because it's so embedded it's like kudzu.  I don't use it for ANYTHING.  Firefox is my preferred browser - and the course management software is only supported on IE and FF.  Suppose I could download Opera, but it seems like a lot of work just to add yet another method of distracting me from what I should be doing!

I'll live vicariously through you all!
