The actor, who is famous for his roles in Game of Thrones, Sharpe and The Lord of the Rings, recites Wilfred Owen's Anthem for Doomed Youth: "What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? Only the monstrous anger of the guns."

The short film is one of a series of features being shown on More4 over the weekend of November 10 and 11 to mark Remembrance Sunday.

I'm suprised and a bit disappointed there's not one comment on this video.I can't believe I'm the only one who absolutely loves this.I keep watching over and over and hope we get to see the second poem.

Sorry patch! I didn’t realise that video of Sean’s recitation was at your link so I didn’t click on it. I thought we'd have to wait until it was broadcast on UK television this weekend. D’oh! Being in the U.S., I figured I would have to wait for YouTube. LOL!

The poem is indeed beautiful and Sean’s performance impeccable as always. I got very emotional listening to it. I had two grandparents who fought in WWII -- one served in the British army -- and I'm always deeply moved by tributes to war remembrance. I take November 11 very seriously and wear my Canadian poppy every year. Thank you for bringing this to us! I’m sorry I misunderstood your original post. :(

I have commented on how amazingly brilliant Sean's performance is in this short film. He many not be as busy this year, but his
acting in this and Accused as been mesmering.

Maybe he's recovered enough from the divorce to be able to take a quality over quantity approach to his projects. One can only hope.
