Legends: Starring role in series pilot for TNT

Its way too early to expect any decisions. They'll watch to see if the ratings hold. So far, they've been pretty happy with it. Besides, TNT isn't know for being vocal about show renewals.

TNT’s third original series launch of the summer, Legends, is still too new for executives to make any decisions but given the appeal of series lead Sean Bean, it wouldn’t be a surprise.

Unfortunately ratings have been going down each week.  That does not bode well for a shows renewal.

Its to be expected when a show airs before the end of the Summer season, just before Football season starts and kids are all back to school and college. Must I repeat myself.... It is simply too soon for TNT to make any sort of decision. Franklin and Bash have never had anything like the ratings that Legends has had so far and yet they just started season 4. TNT is well-known for giving series that find a niche audience a chance. Legends is appealing to a much broader audience than many of the TNT series. So far, they have been doing encore showings of the episodes multiple times after it airs on Weds. The ratings that are being tracked are for the first showings on Weds. TNT has always been a wildcard when it comes to calculating ratings in the traditional way. As such, they give series a lot more freedom to find their groove, so to speak.

Legends Renewal? Major Season 2 Reinvention Plans Confirmed By Showrunner

Legends showrunner David Wilcox has confirmed that he has major plans for Season 2 that will reinvent the story.

While Wilcox has “no idea” when TNT will announce whether Legends will be renewed for Season 2, he assured Assignment X that he has huge plans for the spy drama’s potential continuation that will “change the landscape of the show dramatically”:

Obviously, [we want to be renewed] and we have a major second season planned, a huge second season planned, and we change the landscape of the show dramatically at the end of the season, so Season 2 will be very much a fresh new story.

As for the first season finale, Wilcox says there’s a big twist in store for Sean Bean‘s character:

I’m just going to say the ending [of the first season] is a good surprise, it has a great twist and it builds inexorably to the end.

fellow agents. And it's not just his Yorkshire accent that bugs them.

 Who knew the FBI allowed Yorkshire men into their most secret ranks? But then again, when your CV includes Sharpe, Lord of the Rings, Troy and playing GoT's Ned Stark, you've clearly got enough grit and bottle for the Feds.

Cable channels do not seem to be quite as brutal on their new shows as the networks so hopefully a second season will get the go ahead.

I posted this on TMB  forum and thought I'd post it here .. According to the websites I'd read it is unclear if Legends is in limbo or cancelled .. if I had to venture to guess . I would say cancelled (based on the fact that 95% of the time .. if I like a show (for whatever reason  ) it is cancelled!

My brother-in-law works at TNT and told me Dallas is already dead. So is Legends and Franklin & Bash. That is why they are ordering so many new pilots and series.

It makes total sense. Legends and Franklin & Bash have collapsed in the ratings. Dallas has collapsed in the ratings too, but from a quality standpoint it is a truly awful show. Horrible scripts. Thank God it’s about to be put down for good.
