Chestnut will play Odum’s rival Antonio “Tony” Cimarro, a quick-witted FBI Deep Cover Operative and a natural-born talent for assuming “legends.”
Cimarro has a rivalry with his older and more-experienced colleague, Martin, but the latter is in a league of his own when it comes to undercover work -- something Tony is loathe to admit to himself or others. The character is an ambitious workaholic, a trait he inherited from his Dominican parents, who thrives on putting his skills to use in high-priority and high-risk cases involving national security at the FBI's Department of Covert Operations.
Just read a #Legends script y'all & loved it. Get ready -- we premiere THIS SUMMER -- yup as in 8 mos or so... @KatoriHall @meghanklein #TNT
New trailer for #Legends and this king doesn't die. @SeanBeanOnline rocks it.
A bit from Sean about #Legends from after the reading of Richard Old's "Fat Chancer": "After the reading we could all queue up to get copies of the book signed and at that point a few people had their photos taken. We didn’t get long at the table as we were all kept moving along. I did manage to ask Sean when he was filming "Legends" and he said not until March. I expressed surprise and I don’t remember his exact words but he intimated that he may have other stuff to do first."
While watching TNT this morning I have seen Legends, coming in summer of 2014, advertised several times. I think that means the TNT is really behind this series so that is a good thing.
I rarely watch TNT, but it would be fun to see those advertisements. I'm assuming that Sean is in them.
The third show in the trailer, Legends, stars Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings, Game of Thrones) and it’s a spy show but with nothing, as far as we can tell, that is currently impossible, so we aren’t covering it except for right here and now – but it has Sean Bean, so it should be pretty great:
I’m so excited about it. It’s an amazing cast — Sean Bean and Ali Larter, then we’ve got Morris Chestnut and Tina Majorino — she’s amazing. She’s so gifted. What I love about it is just the central idea of identity, like, “Who are we?” It’s the question of, “Are we the people we love, the people we know? Are we what we do, or are we our name and our history?” So this is a guy whose job is to be other people, and yet who may not even be who he thinks he is. So it’s a weird, existential… I mean, it really brings to mind Bourne, The Prisoner, Nowhere Man. It takes the question of identity, which is something we can all relate to, like, “Who are we? Are we the people we know? Are we the people who love us and know us?” It has the engine of a really cool thriller.
TNT’s summer slate also features the Wednesday, Aug. 20 premiere of Legends,.....
Legends has received an August 20 premiere date at TNT, which barely qualifies it as a Summer series, considering it'll likely run over into the Fall season, but that's just fine. Those looking for some serious action may find it here, judging by the new trailer.
Just finished @LegendsTNT table read - so #lucky working with this incredible team! The only pickle? #InNOut by our stages. #yum #argh
