Legends: Starring role in series pilot for TNT

He's an arresting sight! Sean Bean has pretty co-star surrendering as he plays FBI operative in new series Legends

He ended up being beheaded in his previous role as Ned Stark in hit show Game Of Thrones.

But Sean Bean’s latest character looks set to be somewhat more long-living, as he plays master of disguise - FBI operative Martin Odum.

The 55-year-old was seen getting to work on the series in a park in LA alongside Necar Zadegan, who was seen raising her hands in the air as if surrendering, on Tuesday.

First Look: Sean Bean Plays Special Agent in TNT's Legends

Who is Martin Odum (Sean Bean)? That's the question behind TNT's thriller Legends (premiering August 13). The Game of Thrones alum portrays an FBI agent adept at assuming false identities — until a mysterious encounter forces him to question his own.

"It's fascinating to see how this man gets lost psychologically in his own persona," Bean says. "You have to go in and out of these people, and that messes up your head, so I have to be careful!"

TNT's 'Legends' to Open ATX Television Festival (Exclusive)

The upcoming Sean Bean drama will kick off the fest's third year June 5.

The Austin festival will have TNT's Legends as the kickoff to its third year with key castmembers and producers on hand, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. ATX takes place June 5-8.

If your only encounters with Sean Bean have involved swords and dragons, you’re missing out. Bean’s exposure momentarily blew up when he was shot by a few dozen arrows in The Fellowship of the Ring, but the 55-year-old actor has had a surprisingly diverse career, popping up as James Bond’s friend-turned-enemy in Goldeneye, Christian Bale’s poem-loving partner in Equilibrium, Henry the VIII in the TV movie of the same name, and an unscrupulous local businessman in the excellent miniseries Red Riding. Bean also did an admirable job in the inane film adaptation of the video game series Silent Hill, and the inexplicably contrived Jodie Foster thriller Flightplan, neither of which required any real acting. He found his greatest success on a little show called Game of Thrones, which you may have heard about.

It could be a custom of some kind, Sean is playing a lot of different characters. He looked totally opposite last
