Wow, he does nothing else but work does he?

And can someone tell me why the ten parts and Christmas special of "Downton" which shoot from the end of January to July, are ready to be shown by September, the ten (?) episodes of "Legends" which are about to shoot will be ready to be shown by August, and yet "The Frankenstein Chronicles", already shot, won't be ready to be shown until Christmas?  That seems an awful lot of editing time for something without CGI dragons and direwolves to insert?  It's a rhetorical question - ITV Encore is a new channel showing mostly old and older repeats but if they are pushing foreword with their own commissioned work then I guess they want to take their time and produce a good meaty production when the viewing figures could be their highest - Christmas television is notoriously crap here, and in a sea of truly endless repeats, a beacon of interest in the form of ...

I'm just grumbling because I can't wait to see it.  I never could wait to be fair, I was always known as "Impatient Annie" when I was a child and I haven't improved with age.

I want some Seanie and I want it now!!!!!!!!!

People standing about in complete historically-accurate great houses are simple to film. Downton requires very little green screen during shooting as the sets are all complete. There are also no special effects or stunts to be edited. Historical dramas that shoot outdoors use huge amounts of green screen CGI work. Transforming historical buildings and street scenes set in the middle of a modern city takes a lot of computer time. Plus, Chronicles is a police procedural that requires stunts and special effects. Those stunts and special effects require a lot of computer rendering and editing. Legends is not a good comparison as it is filled with stunts and special effects. All those explosions and shootouts require a lot of time to perfect the editing. As ITV Encore production facilities and assets are relatively new to doing this kind of work, it is perfectly reasonable for them to take longer than other production companies that have been doing it for a long time. I'm sure as they gain experience that they will improve on their processing time.

And, like I said, it was a rhetorical question - I am perfectly aware of the why - I was attempting a faintly humorous and grumpy post - maybe I shouldn't!

Amber, you need to be more sarcastic. I can be a bit pedantic and tend to take things literally otherwise.

Quote
Philip Parris "Phil" Lynott (/ˈlaɪnət/; 20 August 1949 – 4 January 1986) was an Irish musician, singer and songwriter. His most commercially successful group was Thin Lizzy, of which he was a founding member, the principal songwriter, lead vocalist and bassist. He later also found success as a solo artist.

Growing up in Dublin in the 1960s, Lynott fronted several bands as a lead vocalist, most notably Skid Row alongside Gary Moore, before learning the bass guitar and forming Thin Lizzy in 1969. After initial success with "Whiskey in the Jar", the band found strong commercial success in the mid-1970s with hits such as "The Boys Are Back in Town", "Jailbreak" and "Waiting for an Alibi", and became a popular live attraction due to the combination of Lynott's vocal and songwriting skills and the use of dual lead guitars. Towards the end of the 1970s, Lynott also embarked upon a solo career, published two books of poetry,[1] and after Thin Lizzy disbanded, he assembled and fronted the band Grand Slam, of which he was the leader until it folded in 1985.

He subsequently had major UK success with Moore with the song "Out in the Fields", followed by a minor hit "Nineteen", before his death on 4 January 1986.

He remains a popular figure in the rock world, and in 2005, a statue was erected in his memory.

Sean's a child of the seventies, they were his formative years and music was such an important part of life and fashion at the time so I think it's a pretty fair bet that he was, we all were!

Funny thing about Phil Lynott - his chat-up line was to say to a woman "do you have a bit of Irish in you?" and when the answer came back no, he would ask "would you like a bit?" - cheeky, and as he was a rock star, I'm sure it worked!

Terrible waste of another talent lost to drugs.

If Steve is in London filming Legends this week and off to Prague next week, I wonder why Sean stayed in Dublin until at least yesterday?

Filming is often done in more than one location, and with other cast members both before, during and after the work with the principal actors - that's the second unit you see credits for, and the extra location based units.

I'm not remotely spiritual and I haven't read the secret but by golly! I spent Sunday and Monday night watching some of his work and then spent all of Tuesday morning talking about him at work, go out on my lunch break and who do I meet?! This guy! I can now say for a brief moment in time I was the girl under Sean Beans arm! Still in shock with the irony. #seanbean #truegentleman
