Interesting read.  I think the author is right in that LOTR is big screen and GOT is small screen, one being an opera the second being a soap opera.  That is why I have never compared them before now.  The author must not like GOT and really likes LOTR.  I think they are different and both very good in their own way.

I think there's no comparison, other than that they are both fantasy. I like them both.
