Coatbridge singer Pete MacLeod on course for smash-hit 2015 after signing with top producer

A COATBRIDGE singer, fresh from supporting Scottish musical royalty Midge Ure on a tour of Germany, is on course for a rocking 2015 after signing with a top producer and seeing one of his songs picked for use in a Hollywood movie.

The titular song from the Kirkwood musician’s first album, Rolling Stone, is also set to feature in thriller Any Day, starring Sean Bean and Eva Longoria, which will be released early next year

Pete added: “Rolling Stone getting picked to feature in the film Any Day will help to bring my music to another audience. The scene it features in focuses on Sean Bean’s character getting out of prison and looking to start his life again, which the song fits well.

“I will take my mum to the cinema to see it and hear the song through the big speakers.”

Sundance: Gravitas Nabs U.S. Rights to ‘Any Day’

The drama stars Kate Walsh (“Private Practice”), Eva Longoria (“Desperate Housewives”) and Sean Bean (“Game of Thrones”). Gravitas will distribute the film theatrically on May 1, 2015.

The film is written and directed by Rustam Branaman and produced by Jeanette Zhou, Darryl Marshak, and Andrew Sugerman.

Bean plays an ex-fighter who has just been released from prison. Walsh plays his sister and Longoria stars as a woman trying to help him get his life back on track.

The deal was negotiated by Nolan Gallagher for Gravitas and CAA on behalf of Jaguar Entertainment, which financed the project.

Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the Rustam Branaman drama “Any Day” starring Sean Bean, Eva Longoria andKate Walsh, the company announced Friday.

Vian McLean (Bean) is an ex-fighter who is filled with resentment. He killed a man with his bare hands and has just spent the last 12 years in prison for the crime. Upon his release, he stays with his sister Bethley (Walsh) and her son Jimmy, who looks up to his uncle as the greatest man he has ever known.

While Vian struggles to find the right path and be a role model for Jimmy, he meets Jolene (Longoria), who helps him get his life back together. Everything seems to be working out for him, but when a tragic event throws him into a dark corner, Vian faces the greatest challenge of his life that will alter his world forever.

The film is written and directed by Branaman and produced by Jeanette Zhou, Darryl Marshak and Andrew Sugerman.

“We were truly moved by the authentic performances from Sean Bean, Eva Longoria, and Kate Walsh in ‘Any Day,’” said Gravitas founder and CEO Nolan Gallagher in a statement. “We believe this film will resonate with audiences drawn to great storytelling around redemption and the faith and support we find all around us.”

That does sound strange. However, I know that it's hard to get an audience for an INDIE movie so maybe
this is just a NEW way to sell this film to people who don't go to the theatres. Also the movie only has to be
shown in one theatre to be nominated for an OSCAR !! That's how SLING BLADE won BEST PICTURE !!

So here we go again !! Tom Arnold is saying that Sean is a METHOD ACTOR, but Sean has said in the past that
he's NOT A METHOD ACTOR. He has stated that he is a TRADITIONALLY TRAINED ACTOR and NOT a method
actor. I think the difference is that one is in character all the time (until the job is over) and the other style is
that your in and out of character as needed. That way you can go home as yourself and NOT the character
your playing. SO WHAT KIND OF ACTOR IS SEAN ?????
