I've got my fingers crossed that FC will also be shown in the US !!

Armagh’s Frankenstein fans will have to wait longer for Sean Bean drama

But the finishing touches have yet to be added to a show which is expected to target the US and other top global networks.

Well, drat, drat, drats!  And I suppose they mean autumn of 2016, rather than the beginning of the new year?
"... the six-part series..."  How long is each part? Do we know?

Fortunately, we have Legends to look forward to.

Armagh-filmed Frankenstein Chronicles WILL be screened this year

Quote
It was famously said that a week is a long time in politics, but it seems that a lot more can be accomplished in the same timeframe in the world of showbiz!

Just six days ago Armagh I reported that the Armagh-shot ‘Frankenstein Chronicles’ would not be broadcast until 2016 at the earliest.

And that came straight from the horse’s mouth – or ITV if you’d prefer!

The broadcaster confirmed to Armagh I that the show was in post-production and, with such a global appeal, there appeared to be no mad rush in order to ensure the best results.

Indeed, we were told: “We have no transmission date presently but that isn’t unusual when a drama is in post-production. The edit and grading process takes some months.”

So imagine our surprise this evening when ITV drops us off another email to put a smile firmly on our – and hopefully your own – faces!

It seems that the six-parter – helmed by Hollywood star Sean Bean – will now go out within months!

Great news!

“The series has now been scheduled for late autumn 2015,” an ITV spokesperson informs Armagh I.

The drama was shot earlier this year at local locations which included Russell Street, Vicar’s Hill, Armagh Courthouse, Armagh Gaol and Gosford Forest Park.

We are just delighted that we are getting closer to broadcast.

And, given that it’s described as a reimagining of Mary Shelley’s gothic horror novel, it seems perfectly timed for transmission as the darker nights draw in!

If its like other 6-parters like Sherlock and Whitechapel they will be between 60 and 90 minutes each. Slightly longer than your usual one-hour drama series which run around 42 minutes per episode. Sharpe was similar with each episode being divided into two parts. I imagine this one will be in the same category.

The hottest TV shows of autumn 2015

Quote
The Frankenstein Chronicles
ITV’s post-Downton drama strategy seems to include a detour into the 19th century fiction library that has previously been most visited by the BBC. With a new Jekyll and Hyde adaptation elsewhere in the schedules, The Frankenstein Chronicles is a six-parter that plays with Mary Shelley’s original in the way that Showtime’s Penny Dreadful used literary archetypes. Sean Bean plays a Peeler in 1837 London who is called to a body washed up from the Thames that turns out to be a pseudo-human stitched together from cadaver parts. The show aims to tie together the audiences for crime and horror

Mipcom makes push on screenings

Quote

Mipcom has ramped up its number of premiere screenings, which key visitors are attributing to a desire to ward off competition from film festivals moving into TV.

The Cannes event, which runs 3-8 October, has eight high-profile screenings with shows including the world premieres of The X-Files reboot and Sky Atlantic’s The Last Panthers.

Eight screenings is more than any year since it launched premieres in 2010.

In addition to the 20 Century Fox-distributed The X-Files and Sky and Canal+ co-production Last Panthers, the market will screen Endemol Shine International’s British drama Frankenstein Chronicles....

The Frankenstein Chronicles

They say:
“London, 1832: the Thames River Police discover a child’s corpse – a grotesque assembly of human body parts.”
We say:
With Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) in the lead, this period detective drama deviates from other shows in the popular genre by taking a much darker line. ITV’s new Encore channel and Canal+ in France are attached.

A&E Network to Debut The Frankenstein Chronicles in the U.S.

Quote
NEW YORK: A&E Network is set to air the period mystery crime drama series The Frankenstein Chronicles.

Produced by Rainmark Films and distributed by Endemol Shine International, the six-part series is a reimagining of the Frankenstein myth set in London in the 19th century. It stars Sean Bean (Game of Thrones). The Frankenstein Chronicles was created by Emmy nominated director and writer Benjamin Ross (The Young Poisoner’s Handbook), who also directed all six episodes, and writer Barry Langford (Torte Bluma).

“The Frankenstein Chronicles uniquely merges classic elements from both the crime and horror genres, which pairs perfectly with A&E’s growing scripted slate,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, the executive VP of programming for A&E. “We’re excited to be partnering with Endemol Shine to bring this intriguing and sophisticated series to American audiences.”

This looks soooo good.

And might be a bit racier than it seemed at first?  :naughty:

WANNABE actors who audition to appear in a new Frankenstein TV series have been told they mustn't be scared to get their kit off.

A call went out from casting agency Extras NI last week for confident men to be Sean Bean's body double in The Frankenstein Chronicles currently shooting in Northern Ireland.

But to be in with a chance of stepping into the shoes of the Game of Thrones star, who played Lord Eddard Stark in the series, the hopefuls were warned they might be required to bare all.

And to prove they would be comfortable in their birthday suits, those vying for the stand-in role have been asked to submit a sexy selfie - wearing just their underwear.

A text sent around to potential body doubles read: "We are currently casting a male to be a double/stand in for the TV series The Frankenstein Chronicles. The role will potentially involve nudity so you must be comfortable with this.

"Please attach a full-length photo of yourself in either underwear or briefs."

Oh I don't like the idea of this at all - I want to see him not some fit 35 year old pretending to be him.  Has he fallen to pieces so much that he shouldn't be seen naked for fear of frightening people?  WTHell?

I AGREE I would much rather see Sean BARE than another actor, but maybe we should just wait and see the
END results. :mutley: Sean is being paid by the day and they may need some extra shoots of Sean's character
in bed, but the budgets NOT big enough to paid him for the time. So they hire a cheaper actor for those shots.
This is a very common practice in Hollywood.

Anyway, I'm VERY HAPPY about A&E buying this show !!! NOW I CAN WATCH IT in Calif. !!

Yeah, I know.  Post production is a minefield; the time to discover you didn't quite get a shot right, or not enough of a shot, or there's something wrong with what you have got,  and the principal cast are no longer available to tidy up the mess so you have doubles - I don't have a problem with that at all, usually, but if it's any old dude's wrinkled ass I want to see then it's his not someone else, just sayin'!  I don't care if it's drooped to the floor, still want to see his!
