After some looking around I found the location I think.

That's not SamCam in the pic with Sean.  Not sure who that might be - though she seems much more interested in whatever Dave is saying than Sean (who I don't believe is a big supporter . . .)

Jaysus, stop picking your nails, mate.

A lot of people do it when they are bored or not really interested in the people who are around. Be sure he never would tell.

Or when, nervous, yes. Doesnt mean you cant control yourself while a) being photographed and b) around some pretty damn important people.

Though of course, I'd rather be photographed next to a porta-loo than Cameron, but thats another story..

So versusterminus this makes me want to hear the story.  Do a fanfiction and tell us the story.  I am sure we would all get a good laugh.

Heh, no story really. I just disagree wildly with his policies in general. He's a christian promoting deeply liberal policies and thats enough for me to be turned off.

I'm curious, what are Sean's political affiliations -- liberal, conservative, moderate?

Kinda-sorta liberal, but I see him more along the lines of what we call here in the US a libertarian. He has shown a few surprising proclivities that I'm sure Lighty would be better suited to explain than I would.  I barely comprehend American politics let along British.

Thank you Sable! I'm Canadian and trying my best to learn about American politics. I have U.S. citizenship, so I’ll be able to vote in the presidential election. Yay! So I’m doing my best to be as informed as possible. I know what a libertarian is, so that gives me some idea about Sean’s beliefs. I’m looking forward to finding out what those “surprising proclivities” are! LOL!

I remember Sean's unimpressed northerner face when they shook hands. He really wasn't arsed

What does that mean Patch ?????

I think that means that Davy was chuffed to meet Sean - but Sean wasn't as excited to meet Davy.

I'm not sure where Sean stands politically.  He has mentioned more than once that he enjoys reading about modern political history - that points to a more 'left' leaning thought process - and admires Tony Benn (one of my heroes), probably as much for Benn's in your face style as his socialist politics.  He has said that his father is a staunch Labourite (old school Labour, not that abomination that is New Labour) - but he has also said that he and his dad 'used to' debate politics a good bit.
Now, that could mean that his politics have changed - or his dad's politics have changed - or that he is more conservative than his dad - or more liberal.  Just not enough information to tell.

He once commented that he was quite rude to a Tory that came round the house during election season - but that his wife (Gina) was a conservative.

He also made some rather strong comments after the 7/7 bombings, though I think he was reacting emotionally rather than expressing deeply held views.

I suspect he is socially liberal and economically conservative.  Probably somewhat opposed to further integration with the EU and perhaps supportive of some restrictions on immigration, etc.

I'd guess he votes Labour, though he may have been sucked into voting for Clegg last election - Lib Dems make themselves seem so much more liberal than they really are, and Clegg is a Sheffield lad.  Be willing to bet he doesn't vote Lib Dem next time around. . . .

Farewell Lucy Glennon. A brilliant writer, campaigner and 'total badass'

Quote
Sometimes it’s hard to start writing, because you know where it has to end. In this case, I need to state that Lucy Glennon, writer, campaigner, lover of tiny dogs and Guardian contributor, has died at the too-young age of 29.

At one such charity event, she met Sean Bean … and David Cameron. One of these figures impressed her more than the other

Guys, remember when I sorta met David Cameron (when I met Sean Bean) - well I have some BIG goss on him from that night. Explains a LOT.

Cameron heard Sean Bean was around. Was OH saying: “Some charity downstairs, couldn’t give a toss who, but Sean Bean is there.”

And then Cameron jumped in front of my wheelchair, shook Sean Bean’s hand, turned and stared at me in shock and said NOWT. No hello or owt.

Btw guys, Sean Bean was aces and lovely. #SouthYorkshireREPRAZENT
