Sean Bean was spotted at Liverpool’s Florence Institute today wearing a ‘God Save The Florrie’ t-shirt. The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones star was visiting the historic site in Dingle and posed next to front-of-house staff member Lee Swan while wearing the t-shirt designed by artist Jamie Reid especially for the Florrie. The 57-year-old, who also starred in Sharpe, was spotted out and about in Bootle with film crews on Thursday filming his latest TV drama before switching to Toxteth for some night shoots which may explain why he was in the area. Sean is not the first star to grace The Florrie . Gerry Marsden learnt to play guitar and started his skiffle group there plus the main hall was also used to stage boxing events, and featured appearances by legends such as Alan Rudkin and John Conteh.Prince Charles also formally re-opened the building in January 2013, after it had suffered a difficult few decades, closing as a boys’ youth club in 1990 before becoming prey to vandals and the weather. It was a success story for the Echo's original Stop the Rot campaign.Artist Jamie Reid , who created some of the Sex Pistols most memorable artwork, recently staged an exhibition on at the building, constructed in 1889, displaying works from throughout his career. He is renowned for his work featuring letters cut from newspaper headlines in the style of a ransom note.Reid recently designed the God Save the Florrie T-shirt, that Sean Bean was pictured in, to help the Mill Street community venue raise funds. It is believed that Sean Bean is in Liverpool to film a new BBC drama called Broken, produced by Jimmy McGovern, which will see him on screen with the likes of Paula Malcomson, Aisling Loftus and Adrian Dunbar in six one-hour episodes.

Ned, I'm so grateful you found your head back before meeting you. It would have been too creepy even for me taking a photo with you in the way you left me at the end of Season 1. By the way, I'm still wondering where I'm spending my Erasmus: this is not Liverpool, neither Hogwarts, maybe it's King's Landing or Winterfell. Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Sean Bean.#OrdinariaAmministrazione #Erasmusfuckinglife #SeanBean
