E3: A World Of Assassination Awaits In HITMAN 2 Announcement Trailers (Featuring Sean Bean)
Quote
IO Interactive has announced that Agent 47 will officially return in Hitman 2 on November 13, introducing 6 brand new mini-campaigns, including wreaking havoc during an international motorsport race in Miami...

The critically acclaimed 2016 reboot of Hitman is officially getting a sequel after a series of smaller and bigger leaks, elegantly titled Hitman 2 (don't confuse it with 2002’s Hitman 2: Silent Assassin), developer IO Interactive and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today. Hitman 2 will arrive November 13 and will let you enter a world of assassination one more time.

It was also confirmed that this time the game will not be episodic or focused on "seasons," like the last Hitman. Hitman 2 will release all at once as a complete game with six mini-campaigns, including a Miami chapter where you will try to kill your targets during an international motorsport race and it's the main focus of the CGI announcement trailer featuring voice-over from actor Sean Bean.

Actor Sean Bean to Star in First Elusive Target Mission for HITMAN 2 Video Game

Quote
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and IO Interactive today announced that international actor, Sean Bean, will star in the first Elusive Target mission for the HITMAN 2 video game. Bean will take on the role of Mark Faba, a former MI5 agent turned freelance assassin. Notoriously known as “The Undying,” Faba’s reputation as a master of faking his own death is second to none, ultimately causing the International Contract Agency (ICA) to put an imposing bounty on his head.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of the upcoming HITMAN 2 video game,” said Bean. “It’s always exciting to take on a new role, and I’m looking forward to everyone seeing my character in action when the mission launches.”

We’re very excited to partner with the talented Sean Bean on the first Elusive Target mission in HITMAN 2,” said Hakan Abrak, Studio Head, IO Interactive. “Elusive Targets have become a distinguishing trait in Hitman games as part of the constant stream of free live content for all players to enjoy. This new mission starring Sean Bean is one of many updates, features, modes and franchise firsts coming to HITMAN 2, making the next chapter in our ever-expanding world of assassination a richer game for our passionate community and newcomers to the series.”

In the new live-action announcement trailer, Mark Faba, played by Sean Bean, is introduced speaking to his therapist and begins to hint at his unique approach to contract killing, as many random items in the room could potentially serve as useful weapons in Faba’s unorthodox profession. While the session ends badly for Faba’s therapist, the video closes with a familiar character emerging, who has been patiently watching the entire time—the masterful Agent 47. The interactive trailer also asks viewers to vote on three different items referenced throughout the video, which will unlock an exclusive HITMAN 2 weapon later in the campaign. For more information, visit: https://elusive-target.hitman.com/

The first Elusive Target mission, entitled The Undying, is scheduled to release on November 20, one week after HITMAN 2 launches on November 13, and will run for 10 days. Once the mission is available, players must stop Mark Faba before he can utilize his expert surveillance, infiltration and demolition skills to complete a contract at the Global Innovation Race event in Miami, and if anyone can take down Faba for the last time, it’s Agent 47.

In HITMAN 2, Elusive Targets are unique, high-stakes contracts that are only available for a limited time. These missions are free for all players, allowing one chance to assassinate the target and if not successfully completed, the contract cannot be retried. The Undying Elusive Target mission is the first of many post-launch, free live content updates that players will be able to enjoy in HITMAN 2.

HITMAN 2 is the follow-up to the internationally acclaimed video game, HITMAN. Featuring entirely new hyper-detailed sandbox locations full of living, breathing environments to explore, HITMAN 2 offers players the freedom to plan the ultimate assassination utilizing an assortment of tools, weapons, disguises and a variety of stealth techniques to creatively trigger their own unique chain of events.

2 introduces new ways to play with the Sniper Assassin mode, a standalone feature that brings a co-op experience to the Hitman series for the first time, allowing two players to work together online to take down their targets. Sniper Assassin is available to play now as an early access bonus for consumers who pre-order the HITMAN 2. Players can also enter the HITMAN: Sniper Assassin Competition and put their marksman skills to the ultimate test for a chance to win the grand prize of getting their name and likeness included in future HITMAN 2 content. Death Becomes Him: Sean Bean to die...again...in Hitman 2

Quote
Sean Bean is a noted actor and known for iconic roles, maybe none so well as that of Ned Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones...and the first major character of note to die in the series. Death seems to appeal to him when it comes to choosing roles. In fact, he's even coming to Hitman 2 as the game's first Elusive Target.

Bean takes on the role of Mark Faba, a former MI5 agent that has turned into a rogue assassin. His signature "move" is faking his own death repeatedly, earning him the nickname The Undying. As a result of his wily nature, the International Contract Agency (ICA) has put out a rather substantial bounty on his head.

Sean Bean cuts a dapper figure in a navy suit during Paris Games Week... as he takes a break from filming Sky drama Curfew

Quote
He known for his roles as the honourable Ned Stark, once Lord of Winterfell, in the hit HBO series Games of Thrones, and Boromir in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

But Sean Bean swapped the fantasy settings of his film work for a more casual affair, as he attended day two of Paris Games Week at Paris Expo in the French capital.

The actor, 59, cut a dapper figure in a navy blue suit as he spent the day walking around the event on Friday.

Sean teamed up his smart ensemble with a crisp white shirt and black shoes, making sure he looked smart as he explored the convention centre
The Frankenstein Chronicles star wore his brunette locks in a tousled hairstyle, and he sported a close-cropped beard.

The actor has been busy filming on his new TV project, Curfew, which focuses on a group of amateur drivers who want to compete in an illegal night-time street race.

Speaking of the new venture, Sky's head of drama Anne Mensah said: 'Funny, emotionally truthful, visceral and above all fast – Curfew is the perfect Sky One show.

'Matthew Read has created fantastically memorable, sometimes shocking, always fascinating characters. You’ll want every single one of them to win the race of their lives.'

In March Sean was seen on set clad in a Barbour-style jacket while holding on to a pistol as shooting kicked-off for the new Sky drama.

Sean Bean is excited to see how he dies in Hitman 2
Quote
For Hitman 2, developer IO Interactive is once again bringing back “elusive targets,” the tough-to-assassinate characters that are only available for a limited time, and you only have one chance to kill them. If you fail, you don’t get another shot. Things are starting out with a bang for the sequel: the first elusive target in Hitman 2 will be played by none other than Sean Bean, an actor who is notorious for regularly dying in film and TV roles.

His new video game performance offers something very different, however, as the Hitman games are all about finding creative ways to kill. “In the films I’ve done, I know what’s coming. I know I’m going to die. I know in which way I’m going to die,” Bean tells The Verge. “Whereas with this one, I don’t know. It could be anything. The player can kill me any way they want. I don’t know what to say about that.”

Bean will play former MI5 agent Mark Faba, nicknamed “The Undying” for his uncanny ability to fake his own death. It’s a persona that fits snugly into the Hitman universe, and Bean says he really enjoyed taking the role on. “He’s rather unique,” Bean says of Faba. “He’s very much a loner, a very skillful assassin. And he just lives his life for that, really. He lives his life trying to create as theatrical assassinations as possible. I quite like him.”

The actor is no stranger to video games, but in the past, his roles have predominantly been that of a narrator, utilizing his distinct, gruff voice to guide players through Civilization VI or the terrifying underworld of the audio-only horror game Papa Sangre II. And while he says he was familiar with the Hitman name, he didn’t know much about the franchise before taking on the new role. To familiarize himself before slipping into the Faba character, he played for a bit, describing the experience as “very sophisticated and sleek.”

The elusive mission will be available on November 13th, a week after Hitman 2 debuts. Players will then have just 10 days to take out Faba, and they only get one shot. If they fail, the mission can’t be replayed. It’s a unique and distinguishing feature for Hitman, one that Bean didn’t actually know about when he first took on the role. “I only just found that out recently,” he says of the brief nature of the mission. “I’m not going to be around for long. That was quite unusual. I’ve never heard of that before.”

Given the unique nature of the role and the fact that players have so many different options for assassinations in Hitman 2, Bean says he’s excited to see what they do when the mission launches next month. “It will be strange to see people trying to get rid of me,” he explains. “I’ll be as interested as anyone to see how it turns out.” That said, when asked if he plans to play the mission and take out Faba himself, Bean laughs and says, “Yeah, why not?”

Sean Bean about Hitman 2: “I think people might enjoy killing me”
Quote
The famous actor talks about his experience working with the people of IO Interactive and his role as ‘the Undying’ .

I don’t know if you understand that we have 2 weeks left before Hitman 2 comes out. And I hope you do, because right now I can assure you that a red tie is growing from my neck. Don’t worry: as Sean Bean in Hitman 2, I’m also known as The Undying. Sadly, I’m not as cool as he is, nor I’m able to enjoy my time giving life to this Elusive Target in the sequel to Bald Man Throws Wrenches Hitman, as he tells us in this interview with the people of UNILAD Gaming:

The lovely people from UNILAD spoke with Sean Bean about his Elusive Target character in the game, Mark Faba. As he states, this experience is quite new to him:

[…] I’ve narrated quite a few games but I’ve never actually appeared in one physically. I was approached by IO Interactive [and] they kind of fill me in on what is was about[…] I think we created quite an interesting character Mark Faba and a very worthy opponent to Agent 47[…]

As he followed with the interview, he spoke a little bit about his character in the game, Mark Faba:

[…] He’s a really kind of a talented clever ex-MI5 agent that is a master of faking his own death and he enjoys it, he plays around with the establishment with the Agency and he taunts everyone so I think people might enjoy killing me!

It seems that Bean enjoys being portrayed as a videogame character, as he continues:

[…] I like this kind of field and I like this kind of format […] I really like it [and] I’d like to do more of this. You know maybe they’ll find another character for me in this[…]

I suggest you watch the rest of the interview in order to see how with your own eyes how much Sean Bean enjoyed being part of Hitman 2.

From Hollywood to Hitman

Quote
Sean Bean lent his voice in the past to more videogame proponents, including Martin Septim in The ElderScrolls IV: Oblivion and as a narrator in Civilization 6. For none of those roles was an appeal to his body, but for Hitman 2 there was a change in it recently during Paris Games Week.

"I am no stranger to the interpretation of roles in films, but this ended up on my path from scratch. Playing the entire process of a character and seeing it digitized caught my attention, but I had no idea what to expect. You put your fate in the hands of technical people and you have to hope that they make you digitally in a decent way, "grins the Briton. "Something they certainly have done, by the way! In that respect, video games have taken a giant step. "

One person in one mission. The role that Sean Bean plays in Hitman 2 is only minimal compared to other voice actors in the same title. The only difference is of course that he is the actor from many blockbusters, while the rest does it for fun or as a regular job.

More actors who occasionally see (or hear) back in a video game is, according to Sean Bean, something gamers will only see more in the coming years. "I think you will see many more famous actors again because it is just a great opportunity. You play a role as you normally would, but you can let much more of yourself into a character. "But according to Bean, it will be true that these actors will be recognized for their previous work, not the other way around" It is not that I am recognized when I say something. That someone asks 'hey, you were that guy from that one game.'

Hitman 2: Sean Bean on being killed in video game
Quote
Actor Sean Bean has played many roles where his character dies before the end of the film or TV series and now gamers have the chance to digitally kill him when he appears as a special guest star target in the video game Hitman 2.

The Hitman games cast the player as Agent 47 who can employ a wide range of weapons to kill his target.

In addition to the single-player story mode in Hitman 2 there are a variety of online modes including targets which only appear for a short period of time and where the player only has one attempt to kill, so called “elusive” targets.

Bean plays one such character, Mark Faba, nicknamed “The Undying” for his ability to fake his own death.

The game is released on 13 November 2018.

BBC Click’s Marc Cieslak reports.

Sean Bean is now available to be killed in Hitman 2
Quote
As promised, Hitman 2 is serving up Sean Bean as the first elusive target in the game. Dubbed ‘The Undying’, Bean is now live and available to be assassinated in Miami.

Playing an MI5 agent turned assassin named Mark Farba, Bean’s characters is known as ‘The Undying’ due to his ability to fake his own death and slip away unscathed.

The ICA has put a huge bounty on the head of Farba and Agent 47 has one chance to stop him during the Global Innovation Race held in Miami.

From today (November 20) through December 4, players will be able to attempt to assassinate ‘The Undying,’ but like all Elusive Targets, will have only one chance.

Those who play the mission and complete the Explosive Penmanship challenge will unlock the fan-selected Explosive Pen.

7 ways people have already assassinated Sean Bean in Hitman 2
Quote
Hitman 2's first elusive target, Sean Bean, hasn't been live in the game for long, but there are already dozens of videos out there of The Undying meeting an unfortunate end. There are some real death traps in the area, it turns out, which make for quality viewing for us and an unfortunate number of deaths for Sean Bean. Below I've collected some of the creative kills I've seen so far (and a few that aren't so creative, but hey, I like variety). Stick through to the end for a phenomenal briefcase kill. And no, it's not using the amazing homing briefcase bug, although we're bound to get one of those soon enough.

Twitter is banning people who tweet about killing Sean Bean in Hitman 2
Quote
Killing people in real life is a good way to get in trouble. Threatening to kill people is also not a great idea.

In the world of video games, though, we kill people all the time. They’re not real people, which makes it totally fine.

Hitman 2, a game all about murdering NPCs, just released its first Elusive Target – a limited time mission where you have to efficiently take out a special character.
For the first one, your target is played by British actor Sean Bean, a man who famously gets killed in everything he’s in. It’s a clever partnership and people have been genuinely excited about being responsible for the actor’s virtual demise.

In fact, some people have been taking to Twitter to chat about it. In a recent tweet, Twitter user @TheFatConsol3R mentioned that he was off to play the Elusive Target: “Looks like I’m gonna be killing Sean Bean tonight then.” This resulted in a permanent Twitter suspension.

He’s since tried to contest the ban, explaining that he was talking about a video game, but Twitter has ignored his emails. Be careful out there, killers.
