These Emotional New Game of Thrones Cast Interviews Will Make You Cry
Game of Thrones is really ramping up the countdown for fans ahead of the final season's premiere on Sunday. Today, HBO released 13 "The Cast Remembers" interview videos, featuring most of the remaining cast members talking about their time on the show and how their characters have affected them.
Among the featured actors is Emilia Clarke, who plays Dragon Queen Daenerys Targaryen.
"I started this job when I was 22. And I am not 22 anymore," Clarke says, laughing. "The journey that I've been on with Daenerys, it's sharpened me as an actor, and because of the heights she goes to, it's forced me to find them within myself. And so anytime anything good or bad happens, you put it into her. So Daenerys is a tapestry of my entire adult life. Within each major scene of Daenerys is every major scene of my life."
As well as including Clarke's moving account of what the show has meant to her, the video shows footage of Clarke's first day on set ("I fucking fell off a horse!") and a clip of what looks like surprise birthday festivities for the actress, including a gigantic cake and a full cast-and-crew rendition of "Happy Birthday."
In Sophie Turner's video, she looks back on her time as Sansa Stark. "I've grown up with these people, I've changed so much as a person," she says of the show's cast and crew. Her first day on set was, it seems, just as intimidating as Clarke's-Turner had a scene with revered actors Sean Bean, Mark Addy, and Lena Headey: "I remember being so overwhelmed and terrified."
Other highlights from the videos include Kit Harington talks about working with his now wife Rose Leslie and a #TBT interview with a very tiny, very cute Maisie Williams.
