Today Carice van Houten was announced to replace actress Lena Headey to star in "Black Death" for Ecosse Films. She will be joined by Sean Bean, Rupert Friend Eddie Redmayne, John Lynch, Tim McInnerny, and Johnny Harriswill. The movie is set in an apocalyptic world during the middle ages. A band of brothers set out to find a necromancer against the backdrop of the first break out of the bubonic plague.
Geoff Sax will direct a script penned by Dario Poloni. Friend will play a young monk sent to investigate rumors of people being brought back to life, while Bean plays a mercenary priest who arrives in the same village. Against the backdrop of the peaceful village lies a pact with the forces of darkness, orchestrated by the village ruler (van Houten).
