Wycombe   1 - 0   Sheffield Utd

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14958080.stm

Miserable match.  I get the goal - mistakes are made (McGuire made this one) - but that was halfway through the first half and despite a plethora of chances, they never made it through.

Depressing, actually.  Quinn is apparently back to his old 'hold onto it for just one more second' nonsense; Williamson was completely off his game; the gaffer waited entirely too long to pull some of the underperformers.

And we're playing Charlton next!  ack.

In any case . . . UTB!

Wish I could see some of those games.  We get some Premier League matches on ESPN here in Colorado, but not the blades.

FORGET the Steel City derby later in the month - it seems Owls and Blades fans are being put at the centre of another rivalry this season.
Two proto-pop stars are going head-to-head by releasing their versions of Singing The Blues and The Greasy Chip Butty Song.
And, because both singles are in aid of Sheffield Children’s Hospital, the generosity of both sets of supporters is at stake.

Gah.  We almost let them level!  Thank goodness for the post . . .

and TWOOOOOOOOO.

We just scored AGAIN!!!!!!

*excuse me . . . must HAPPY DANCE . . . *

on edit:
minutes to the half - things are heating up a bit (wouldn't be a derby if they didn't) - still 2-0 Blades . . . Wednesday have had a couple of good chances, but gained nowt for them.

on edit:

3 minutes extra time . . . we have a corner; Williamson took it, Madine cleared, lots of pressure around Wednesday's box . . . O'Grady just conceded a free kick . . . nope, we couldn't convert.  *drat*
Halftime

Good gawd.

35 minutes into the second and the Owls have freaking LEVELED.

Blades just gave it away.

sigh.

edit:  ended 2-2.  Disappointing from a derby standpoint, but really disappointing from a league table standpoint.  *shakes head*

Ah, well.  UTB!

Minutes to go . . . we might just pull out this match.  1-0 Blades over Leyton Orient . . .

A win is good, though I agree with Keith - it would be nice to have a comfortable win for a change.  Sweating the last minutes is agonizing, especially against a team sitting in the relegation zone.

Why the hell do they insist on pushing their luck?

Holy crap.  Orient just scored because the Blades can't F****** just let it be.  If I were the gaffer, I'd be stripping flesh off ALL of them in the dressing room after this is over.

STUPID BUGGERS.

argh.

A frustrating match.  Behind 2 in the first 25 minutes.  Then level in the minutes of the second.  Then pull ahead.  Then level.  Then pull ahead.  And then, with 5 minutes to go in regular time - level again.

Damned roller coaster that match was.  Puts us in an awkward spot - and still behind Wednesday.  Boohisssss . . .

I think it's time for the squad to take Quinny behind the barn and encourage him to shape up.  Rarely does a match go by that he doesn't incite - directly or indirectly - a dangerous penalty.

This time it lost us the match.

geeze.
