Southbank Awards coming soon
« on: January 18, 2010, 12:10:14 PM »
Sean is on the guest list as Red Riding is nominated.  He's done this particular awards show twice in the past and it seems conveniently timed, so maybe he'll show up.  Sunday, January 31st.  Hopefully someone can record it for us?

Other winners at the awards ceremony, held to honour talent and achievement across all of the arts, include Channel 4’s Red Riding, which took the prize in the television drama category.

Starring Sean Bean, David Morrissey and Maxine Peake, the drama beat BBC3’s Being Human and ITV1’s Collision to the award, which was presented by Gavin and Stacey star Rob Brydon.

From the sounds of all the projects, I'd be surprised if he wasn't working right now . . .

From the sounds of the last casting call, its very likely that Clean Skin has gotten underway.  So, he might be in the London area, but he's working.

I'm glad that Red Riding won the prize, but it's too bad that Sean wasn't there to provide us with some new photos.

Sean Bean accepted the TV Drama award from Rob Brydon, for Channel 4’s ambitious and dark trilogy, Red Riding, in which he starred. This is the third year running that Channel 4 have won this coveted award (The Devil’s Whore – 2009, The Mark Of Cain – 2008).

So he was there.http://www.madblackcat.com/2010/01/winners-of-the-final-south-bank-show-awards/

The South Bank Show Awards will be broadcast on ITV1 on Sunday 31 January 2010 at 10.15pm.

Hmm... you'd think that an award do like that would get more attention from the news rags.

On another site they are reckoning that the press release was put out before the awards and that maybe Sean was expected to be there but actuall;y wasn't as there's not a picture of him anywhere...

Southbank Awards don't usually get much press coverage and the times he has attended in the past there have been only 3 or 3 pics, usually of his arrival, to show up anywhere.  It is possible he had someone stand in for him.  Lorna's done it for him before.

Why would he accept the award anyway?  It was for the films, not for his performance.  Why wouldn't the screenwriters/producers/directors accept it?

Ahh... looks like he did accept it on behalf of the Red Riding team.  Thanks for the link Patch.

He must have snuck in the back door in disquise, else surely at least one photographer would have noticed him.

No definitely no Beanie there. The award was collected by the producer and David Morrisey and Maxine Peak were there. But no Beanie. The clip they showed was Beanie attacking the young reporter and grabbing him by  the balls so he was there in celluloid if not in poerson!  Press releases being released too early methinks.
