However you did it, its brilliant.  I've never had any success with using my streaming video screencapture application.  What one do you use?

Damn.  Wish I could justify the cost. I'd LOOOOOOVE to have the whole Camtasia Studio.  I'm lucky to have SnagIt, but then you get what you pay for and you don't get much for $30 bucks. Thankfully Gimp is free but it can't do anything with streaming video.

I'm pretty sure I screen-captured some videos with SnagIt before switching to Camtasia.  I'll experiment with it and see if it's workable.

When I try it with SnagIt I can get the video but no audio.  Maybe I'm missing a codex or something, but it never gives me any sort of error.

I just did a quick test with SnagIt.  It was clunky, but it did work, and it picked up the sound too.  Check your settings; maybe you've missed something.  In the version I have, "Record Audio" needs to be checked under the Input options.  And there's an Audio Setup button in the Output properties where you can choose an installed codec.  I have the video codec set to DivX.

Thank you, Janice.  I'll have to play with it when I get some quiet time.  I've used SnagIt for quite a few years now, but I've never really delved in to it too far beyond the basics.
