Enemy of Man, it's a modern version of Macbeth, but maintains elements of tradition too. So they're not setting in 1930's Argentina or anything, it's set in the Scottish Highlands, with all the blood and gore you'd expect. Charles Dance, Rupert Grint, they're in it. Jason Flemying, Stephen Graham, so there are some great actors in it, oh and Sean Bean, he's in it too.

I'm not a big fan of blood and gore, but it's good to see that the movie is set to go.

British distributor Kaleidoscope boards "Enemy of Man," directed by Vincent Regan and starring Sean Bean as the tragic antihero.

Quote
TORONTO – U.K. banner Kaleidoscope Film Distribution has struck a deal for worldwide distribution rights to Enemy of Man, a reworking of Shakespearean tragedy Macbeth, which boasts Harry Potter star Rupert Grint as part of the cast.
Kaleidoscope will begin pre-sales during the Toronto International Film Festival on the title, which is set to begin filming in January of 2014 and stars Sean Bean as the tragic antihero.

Kaleidoscope will also distribute the title in the U.K.

Quote
Vincent Regan directs this latest version, billed as a retelling of a timeless tale of war, regicide, betrayal and untimely revenge.

"Although 400 years old, Shakespeare’s work feels truly contemporary," Regan said. "An ambitious childless couple; their longing for family replaced by a chilling pursuit of absolute power. Remaining true to its dark heart, we will strip back the dialogue, crank up the action and produce an atmospheric and blood-soaked chiller."

Sean Bean News - Macbeth Movie to Start Filming January 2014

Quote
In interviews during 2006 and 2007 Sean Bean talked about playing Macbeth in a film called at the time "Come Like Shadows".
Here's part of one of those interviews, Sean talking with Rotten Tomatoes in 2007:

After all these years of hearing about Sean playing Hamlet, I'm very glad that we will finally get to see him in this role.

Macbeth, MF. He's a bit old for Hamlet.

As there's still no one cast as Lady Macbeth, any suggestions as to who would be suitable?

They would be smart to stick with a paring that worked so well in the past. Samantha Bond IS Lady Macbeth.

Although I did not see the Macbeth production with Sean I do like that paring.  I would say that is an excellent choice Sable.
