Game of Thrones crew couldn’t have been more brutal to Ned Stark’s head after Sean Bean’s exit

Quote
If you thought Ned Stark’s death in the Game of Thrones season one finale was as brutal as it can get, you were sadly mistaken. Sean Bean has officially been named as the actor with the sixth-highest death rate in showbusiness, being killed off in almost everything he’s signed up to. From Lord of The Rings to Game of Thrones, Sean’s days are usually numbered.

But after Ned was beheaded, rather than wallowing in bowing out early in what was to become the biggest show on the planet, the 60-year-old and the Game of Thrones crew had a game of kick-about with the befallen Lord of Winterfell’s head.
Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Sean dismissed any suggestions his last day in Westeros as particularly poignant. ‘Not really, I filmed the death scene, I get beheaded, it’s very sudden, I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare. Just a normal day, bacon and eggs, stuff like that, cup of tea and that were it… I was kneeling there, they don’t damage you in any way… they threw my dummy head on the floor,’ he began.

I wanted to [keep it] and they said they were going to give it to me, but they never did. Conan O’Brien had it last…’ Or at least what’s left of it. ‘Er… I think I started messing about with it a bit. And then [the crew] took it a bit further, start throwing it, then started booting it,’ he grinned. Also appearing on tomorrow night’s Jonathan Ross Show, Liam Gallagher invites his estranged brother Noel to his wedding and opens up about their humongous fallout which caused the end of Oasis as we know it.
The Jonathan Ross Show airs tomorrow night at 10.30pm on ITV.

Sean Bean reveals his favourite on-screen death was in The Lord Of The Rings as it felt 'very heroic'... after admitting he has started to turn down roles in which his characters die

Quote
He is known for being killed multiple times, and in multiple ways, on screen.
But Sean Bean claimed his favourite death was as Boromir in The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring, as he discussed his career in an interview set to air on Saturday's The Jonathan Ross Show.

Explaining his reason behind why his character's death at the hands of Saruman's Orcs was the best, the actor, 60, said: 'I suppose it would be Lord of the Rings. That was quite triumphant. Very heroic. A lot of pathos in that particular death.'
Despite racking up a staggering 23 deaths in films and television, Jonathan advised him that he was only the 6th highest actor to have been killed on screen, and Sean was surprised it wasn't 'higher than that'.
While he said of his death scenes being memorable: 'Yeah I'd like to think so. I hope you notice I've gone.'

Earlier this week, Sean revealed that he was so exasperated with his characters dying onscreen, he's now turning down roles which would see him meeting a grisly end.
The actor's character Ned Stark was brutally beheaded in the first season of hit fantasy drama Game Of Thrones, while Boromir perished under a shower of arrows in Lord Of The Rings — marking just two of his 23 screen deaths.

And Sean has now decided that he'd like for his next character to make it out of a TV show or movie alive, telling The Sun: 'I’ve turned down stuff. I’ve said, "They know my character’s going to die because I’m in it!"

'I just had to cut that out and start surviving, otherwise it was all a bit predictable. I did do one job and they said, "We’re going to kill you," and I was like, "Oh no!" and then they said, "Well, can we injure you badly?" and I was like, "OK, so long as I stay alive this time."

He added of his many screen roles: 'I’ve played a lot of baddies, they were great but they weren’t very fulfilling — and I always died.
'
Fans of the star need not be concerned when they sit down to watch his upcoming BBC World War II drama World On Fire, as his character Douglas Bennett survives.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday September 21 at 10.30pm on ITV.

Sean Bean got marijuana in the mail
Quote
Sean Bean once had a fan who sent him marijuana in the post.

The 60-year-old actor says he's had "a couple" of bizarre interactions with his fans, including one who used to send him letters in the post along with the illegal drug, as well as images of his face merged with her own.

Speaking about "crazy" fans, he said: "There's been a couple in the past, but they... one of them was sending me marijuana ... my wife was saying, 'You've got another letter, a marijuana letter'.

"Some of them are really crazy. She used to send me pictures of her face and mine morphed into one. She said, 'We are one. Me and I am you'. No [I didn't meet her]. I did something for 'Lord of the Rings', a PR thing, and she was in the audience, she tried to break through the barriers. They had to restrain her."

The former 'Game of Thrones' actor also spoke of a fan who has his signature tattooed onto her leg.

He added: "I know a woman who lives near me Mam who got my signature, she asked my mum if she could have my signature and she had it on her leg. Maybe I signed her leg ..."

Marijuana isn't the only weird thing Sean has been sent in the mail, as he revealed he was once mistaken for Rowan Atkinson and his popular character Mr. Bean, when he received a letter addressed to the "rubbery faced" star.

Sean explained during an appearance on 'The Jonathan Ross Show': "I got a letter once and it just said 'Mr Bean London' and it came to my house. It said, 'You made me laugh so much, and your rubbery face ...' I was like, hold on a minute. It was for Rowan Atkinson ... might have been me. But yeah, it was funny."
