Another new teaser of TNT. Unfortunately, this promos are only available for US, but a kind fan (C Yussen) recorded it and share it with us. Hopefully @snowpiercertv can share all of the promos! In the meantime, if you are in the US and happen to see any other new promo, please try to record it and share it with your fellow fans!! (There is one promo, in which Wilford touches Audrey and she pushes away, apparently that’s the one we don’t have yet)

Snowpiercer: Mr. Wilford Offers His Take on Season 1 & What's to Come

Quote
If you've checked into this article then you know by now that the "MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!" sign was lit the moment you read the headline- there will be spoilers from the season finale of TNT's Snowpiercer coming. And it was one helluva wrap-up, leaving viewers to watch Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) beginning the foundations of a new and better society. Everyone put aside their differences, joined hands, and created a new life of never-ending happiness and joy. The end… but not really. See, Bennett (Iddo Goldberg) set them up to be taken over by supply train Big Alice. And that's when two "old ghosts" proved themselves to be very much alive. One that hits Melanie at her core: her once-thought-dead daughter Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard). But she didn't come alone: the very-much-alive-and-very-much-real Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) enters the scene- and he's returned to take back "his" world.

So with that in mind and the series set to return for a second season on Monday, January 25, Snowpiercer and TN are offering the fans a recap of the first season as told through the animated eyes of Bean's Wilford (spoken to the tune of "Twas the Night Before Christmas). What makes this recap particularly interesting is how a story can change when told from a slightly different perspective:

‘Snowpiercer’ Season 2 Coming to Netflix Internationally Weekly From January 2021
Quote
Snowpiercer will be returning for its second season in early 2021 and will once again be dropping on Netflix internationally on a weekly basis. Here’s the current expected release schedule and a little on what we know about Snowpiercer season 2.

The dystopian thriller that’s based on the screenplay by Bong Joon-ho kicked off in mid-2020 to mainly positive reviews. Netflix managed to scoop up the international rights to the series which airs first on TNT (owned by Warner Brothers) where it released weekly.

Notably, in season 2, Sean Bean will be visible in the flesh as opposed to being just heard over the tannoy system. It’s also going to be the case that Netflix internationally carries the show on a weekly basis for season 2.

Netflix Release Schedule for Snowpiercer Season 2

New episodes don’t look like they’ll be coming exactly one day after the premiere. Instead, they’ll come to Netflix 5 days afterward.

For the moment, the only release date we know so far is that season 2 episode 1 is due to premiere on January 25th, 2021. The first episode will then drop on Netflix the following morning at 8 AM GMT (view what time this is in your timezone).

That means new episodes will air in the United States on TNT on Mondays and come to Netflix on Tuesdays. This is slightly different to season 1 which used to air on Sunday evenings in the US before hitting Netflix on Mondays.

Below is a release table for the 10 expected episodes at the moment. Season 1 ran for 9 weeks straight with the ninth and tenth episode airing on the same day. We’ve assumed that’s happening again here but will update should that change.

Will Snowpiercer be coming to Netflix US?

While we did hold out hope that Netflix in the United States and Canada could see Snowpiercer added as we’ve seen with other licensing deals of this nature. That looks almost certain not to happen.

Although the series has been missing on a streaming service of any kind, January 2021 will see the first season added to HBO Max in the United States. Season 2 will likely follow in early 2022.

Snowpiercer Season 2 Trailer: Mr. Wilford Returns for Chaos & Corruption

Quote
With two weeks left until the return of TNT’s hit adaptation of the graphic novel and Bong Joon-Ho film, the first official trailer for the second season of Snowpiercer has arrived teasing the dangerous return of Mr. Wilford, played by Game of Thrones alum Sean Bean. The trailer can be viewed below!

Sean Bean's villain is off the rails in Snowpiercer season 2 trailer
Quote
Sean Bean has the carriage of someone very much enjoying himself in the just-released trailer for Snowpiercer season 2. A newcomer to the sci-fi show about a train which endlessly circumnavigates a frozen world, the GoldenEye and Game of Thrones actor stars as the seemingly villainous Mr. Wilford, the owner of the titular locomotive, who has turned up to reclaim his property.

Snowpiercer season 2 trailer: Sean Bean shines as Mr. Wilford
Quote
Just in case you weren’t excited for the Snowpiercer season 2 premiere already, here’s another reason to be: The full trailer!

Today, the network unveiled a first look at the action-packed second season of their adaptation, and it’s one that places Mr. Wilford front and center. Game of Thrones alum Sean Bean plays the apparent Big Bad, someone who is well-dressed, dangerous, and also very much resourceful. Think about some of his origins when it comes to Snowpiercer, let alone some of what he could do to some of the passengers. He is going to loom large throughout the season, though we know there are plenty of people out there who could start making their “Sean Bean character is going to die” jokes immediately.

'Snowpiercer' Season 2 trailer features a sinister Sean Bean
Quote
Warning: Contains major spoilers for Snowpiercer Season 1.

Snowpiercer, the post-apocalyptic Netflix/TNT series set entirely on a train, is on its way back for a Season 2 — and Sean Bean is joining the action.

The Lord of the Rings star will be playing Mr Wilford, the original architect of the train whose sudden reappearance at the end of Season 1 looks set to lead to more claustrophobic power struggles this time around. Bean joins main characters Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, and Mickey Summer, all returning for more snowy tension on the tracks.

Snowpiercer Season 2 drop Jan. 25 on TNT and Jan. 26 on Netflix.

Snowpiercer Season 2 Preview: Meet Mr. Wilford- Savior or Destroyer?
Quote
With TNT's Snowpiercer set to pull out from the station for its second season run starting next week, Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) were barely given a moment to appreciate the hard work and sacrifice it took for them to take the train and start the process of building a new and better society. That's because Big Alice had something to say about their plans- more precisely, it was very-much-alive-and-very-much-real Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) who picked that very moment to roll up on the celebration to let them know he's taking charge and taking back what's his. To emphasize the point that he's holding all of the cards, he even brought along Melanie's once-thought-dead daughter Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard). So for Layton, Melanie, and the others to save what they fought so hard to achieve, the revolution will need to go to the next level.

With TNT's Snowpiercer continuing its global run for a second season starting Monday, January 25, here's a look at the enigmatic Mr. Wilford, a savior of the people- or the face that will destroy everything Layton, Melanie, and the others fought so hard to achieve?

Snowpiercer season 2 premiere spoilers: The arrival of Mr. Wilford
Quote
The Snowpiercer season 2 premiere is set to arrive on TBS one week from Monday, and the stage has already been set for massive drama. Through “The Time of Two Engines,” you will see the official arrival of Sean Bean as Mr. Wilford. He is enormously powerful, incredibly shrewd, and it remains to be seen precisely what he is set to do. He will cause all sorts of chaos within Snowpiercer, and it will be up to each character to figure out what they want to do with him present.

What we love about Bean as an actor is that he can play so much ambiguity. Will characters end up trusting Wilford and getting burned? Will he keep his true intentions a secret? The first episode is almost certainly not going to give you everything, but it may at least set the stage for whatever comes next.

Garfield Wilson rides the rails in second season of Snowpiercer
Quote
Garfield Wilson has been sworn to secrecy.

He isn’t allowed to divulge anything about the second season of Snowpiercer, the small-screen adaptation of director Bong Joon-Ho’s 2013 post-apocalyptic thriller set aboard a perpetual motion train rolling through a sub-zero world.

But the Vancouver-based actor will admit to being excited about a couple of things. The first is that he is returning in his role as Jackboot Kaffey.

The second is that he got to meet Sean Bean, who turns up in season two playing the mysterious reclusive billionaire and, possibly, genius inventor Mr. Wilford.

“I’m a big fan of his work dating back to before Lord of the Rings, because he brings so much heat to every scene that he is in,” said Wilson. “I can’t say anything more about that, save that season two is going to be a real trip, as this storyline for this show is so complex and it just gets more so this time around. When I first booked the role, I had no idea how this cool, modern day apocalyptic Noah’s Ark was going to expand on the initial Chris Evans’ film to become such a global phenomenon.”

A part of the paramilitary security force on the class-stratified train, Wilson’s character is facing new demands to his role in the on board society as it faces all manner of internecine plots and twists.

‘Snowpiercer’ Renewed For Season 3 By TNT Ahead Of Season 2 Debut
Quote
TNT has ordered a third season of Snowpiercer ahead of the Jan. 25 premiere of sci-fi thriller’s second season.

The renewal cements Snowpiercer‘s status as TNT’s only remaining ongoing original scripted series, with Animal Kingdom and Claws coming to an end.

The first season of Snowpiercer launched in May with 3.3 million Live+Same Day total viewers across TNT and TBS to rank as the #1 new cable drama series of 2020. The series, which logged TNT’s most watched premiere since The Alienist in 2018,  has reached 32 million viewers to date across TNT’s linear and digital platforms. Season one is now available to stream on HBO Max.

At the end of Snowpiercer season one, the survivors of the revolution are trying to pick up the pieces and maintain a fragile peace amongst the now merged classes with Layton (Daveed Diggs) emerging as the train’s leader. Discovering Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) is alive and headed their way on a rival train, Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) risks going outside to prevent him from invading Snowpiercer. While she’s out there, it’s revealed that Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard), Melanie’s daughter, who she thought had died, is alive and has become Wilford’s dedicated protegee. In season two, an entirely new power struggle emerges, causing a dangerous rift as people are divided between their loyalty to Layton and to Mr. Wilford, who has a new train, new technology and a game plan that keeps everyone guessing. While Layton battles Wilford for the soul of Snowpiercer, Melanie leads the charge on a shocking new discovery that could change the fate of humanity.

'Snowpiercer' - Meet the new boss

Quote
Mr. Wilford has arrived to re-take his rightful place as the head of “Snowpiercer,” and the tentative peace aboard the 994-car supertrain will soon be history.

Indeed, as the TNT sci-fi actioner opens its second season Monday, Jan. 25, the inhabitants of the titular post-apocalyptic train find they have new neighbors. The 40-car Big Alice that attached itself to the tail of Snowpiercer at the end of Season 1 brings forth their once and future leader (new cast member Sean Bean, “Game of Thrones”) and his protegee, Alexandra Cavill (new cast member Rowan Blanchard, “Girl Meets World”) – engineer Melanie’s (Jennifer Connelly) believed-dead daughter – to deliver their demands.

Their arrival threatens the fragile democracy and merging of the classes aboard Snowpiercer, prompting revolutionary-turned-de-facto-leader Layton (Daveed Diggs) and his foot soldiers to take up arms. Also not thrilled with Wilford’s re-emergence is entertainer Miss Audrey (Lena Hall), who has a tortured past with him. But Ruth from hospitality (Alison Wright) is overjoyed to see her old boss back in charge.

Of course, the big news this season is the casting of Bean, a classically trained British actor whose nearly 40-year career spans stage, film and television. He gleefully plays Wilford as a brilliant eccentric with big appetites and an even bigger capacity for cruelty.

“I wouldn’t really say Wonka-esque,” explains series showrunner Graeme Manson, “but he’s a larger-than-life character and he’s the smartest man in the world. I mean, he was the smartest man in the world before everybody else died. Now there’s only less than 3,000 of them. He’s a formidable character. … Sean just plays him with such relish. He’s pretty delightful and delicious and like all our villains, he’s not completely black or white, either.”

And that element of the character reveals itself in scenes with Hall’s Audrey, who fights a fatal attraction to her former paramour. In playing opposite Bean, Hall admits to having been thrown by the actor’s fiery intensity.

“It’s interesting because he’s very quiet in person when you meet him and he’s very quiet and internal, I guess, on set,” Hall explains. “And then when he acts a scene, when they say, ‘Action,’ he completely changes into whatever character he’s playing. In this case, he’s a monster. Like he transformed while we were acting together and it was so amazing for me to watch that like my reactions are pretty much there. …

“Like my reactions are pretty much in the moment because he would change things up and he would get really intense sometimes and it would scare me, like for real, dude,” she continues with a laugh. “So it was fun. It was always so fun to do these scenes with him. And then when they stop action, he’s back to being really sweet.”

Snowpiercer full release schedule – each episode’s Netflix release date
Quote
It’s been less than a year since the first season of Snowpiercer aired, but the post-apocalyptic sci-fi series is already returning to Netflix for its second run – with none other than Sean Bean joining the cast.

As with the first season, the 10 episodes will not all be arriving at once – so unlike most shows on the streamer, it won’t be possible to binge the entire season all in one go, at least not until all the episodes have dropped.

Read below for the full schedule and when to expect new episodes.

Star Sean Bean Boards The "Snowpiercer" Train For Season 2
By Barb Oates

Quote
The first 10-episode season of this thrilling remake of the postapocalyptic dystopian 2013 film was a riveting ride. The series centered around all that was left in a frozen world — an amazing 1,001-car train called Snowpiercerthat was filled with 3,000 passengers, divided by social classes, who were left to follow the principles of the train’s builder Mr. Wilford: respecting work, honor and order. But social injustices led to a rebellion. So where did we leave off?

Let’s start with Layton,Hamilton’s Daveed Diggs, who led the Tailies’ rebellion over social injustices, facing off against the upper class and the train’s leader Melanie (Jennifer Connelly). While the Tailies advanced uptrain, it came with great sacrifice as Layton had to cut off the prison carriage, sending his friends to their deaths. As for Melanie, the true brain behind Snowpiercer, we learned that she chose her beloved train and saving a piece of humanity, and she thought that came at the cost of her own daughter, Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard, Girl Meets World), and her former ally Mr. Wilford, as both were left behind. But the season-ending collision exposed that there was a second perpetually moving train, and Mr. Wilford and Alexandra are on it, and they aren’t happy as they look to board Snowpiercer.

Here Mr. Wilford himself (the amazing Sean Bean, Game of Thrones) gives us some insights as a new power struggle emerges in Season 2.

Looks like you just can’t escape the cold and barbaric surroundings when it comes to TV series. What excited you about coming aboard and taking on the role of Mr. Wilford?

Sean Bean: I think it was the fact that I’ve seen the original film and was very impressed by that and when I was offered the chance to play Wilford, of all people, who didn’t star in the film, too much, it was a chance to elaborate on that character and I had no hesitation on getting involved.

When we last left the series, your train had attached to Snowpiercer. What can you tease about your train’s history/size and Wilford’s intentions? And then, what episode (and/or scene) are you particularly excited for fans to see?

Wilford’s train is really high-tech. He’s had quite some time to be able to refine the engine and the technical side of everything. It’s very lavish, as well. He’s built himself luxurious quarters so that’s kind of a contrast to the rest of the train, which gets worse as you get towards the back. There’s a scene where I’m introduced to the train again as a kind of returning hero and it’s very flamboyant and I’m in really good form, a bit like Oscar Wilde entering the London kind of co-op in the 1890s. And I tried to instill some of that into these particular scenes. He’s such a showman and he’s very flamboyant, which I enjoyed playing.

Lots of buzz surrounds whether Alexandra is your daughter. Clearly we know you can’t divulge, but share with us where the second season picks up and what type of relationship/loyalty Wilford has with Alexandra.

What I’ll say is Alexandra is very loyal to me and is behaving as though she is my daughter. The season picks up when there’s just been a war on the train and it’s in shambles. It’s wrecked and people are still weary of each other, and I come in just at the right moment with this new train. There’s a lot of people who support me still. It’s very false because I’m not going to do them any good whatsoever, but they’re the ones who are behind me so I capitalize on that and sweep them all up in this pomp and showmanship and promise them the world. So I’m returning on a good foot.

Tell us about Wilford’s amazing wardrobe and a few of your personal favorites.

They were all handmade for me by a wonderful tailor in Vancouver. There were about 10 made — all the finest fabric. All sorts — silk dressing gowns, pajama bottoms, Tom Ford underwear, fur capes, everything. Beautiful shirts, ties, waistcoats, Gucci slippers. The wardrobe is fantastic — so much so, I’ve asked whether I can keep it when we finish filming.

You were well into production on Season 2 before things got suspended due to the pandemic. What (if any) was the upside to having to shut down briefly? When you first got on set, what really wowed you about it?

It’s immensely challenging for production teams working in these conditions to keep everyone safe, and I have huge respect for them and, of course, all the front-line workers. There isn’t really much of an upside other than it gave me quite a lot of free time to catch up on everything and read a lot. When I arrived on set it was much quieter and focused; it was a smallish crew and it was interesting. It’s hard for everyone working under those conditions, but I thought they did an amazing job.

How Snowpiercer Season 2 Can Make The Show Better Than The Original Movie
Quote
Snowpiercer season 2 can make the show even better by diving even deeper into the character and class dynamics of the train. Plus, with the real Mr. Wilford’s arrival in season 2, the series has the opportunity to explore him and his backstory a lot more than the film did. In the movie, Mr. Wilford is a mysterious figure whom Curtis (Chris Evans) doesn’t even meet until the very end of the film. The audience knows little about him or why he’s continued to allow the class divisions on the train. On the other hand, the TNT series could flesh out his character in a way that would also add context to the film’s version of Mr. Wilford. Perhaps through his introduction, Snowpiercer can continue to build upon the discussions of class, power, and so much more by furthering the development of the characters responsible for the turmoil of Layton and the rest of the Tailies.

Daveed Diggs Talks ‘Snowpiercer’ As A Franchise, Sean Bean And The Confidence Of Season Two
Quote
Diggs returns as Andre Layton in Snowpiercer’s second season. Jennifer Connelly, who plays Melanie Cavill, also returns. Among those joining the cast of the TNT show’s sophomore outing is Sean Bean as the villainous Joseph Wilford.

“You get so close to people because you spend a lot of time with each other, and not having to start a relationship over from scratch is always nice,” Diggs explained. “I know Sean’s work, and he’s fantastic here. Sean’s so great as Wilford and really fun to work with. He’s so laid back, and I don’t know that you would assume that of him from his portrayals. He’s genuinely not tripping off anything. He’s unphased by everything.”

“Snowpiercer is hard s**t to shoot. He’s very level-headed, just comes in and starts playing, and I think the energy he infused in the show is vital, especially as a new character. His performances were so fearless. He never worried about where the camera was, he made bold choices all the time, so when you’re acting with him, you get to do the same. You’re actually forced to do the same thing, or he’s going to eat you alive, you know? I had a wonderful time working with him.”

Diggs added, “With Melanie as a character, as my adversary last season, that relationship is now very nuanced, and they grow to respect each other. Layton and Wilfred don’t f**k with each other, they don’t understand each other, but I think they are both at times amused by each other. That was a fascinating wrinkle and easy to play with Sean. He’s so damn charismatic. Once he turned the Wilford thing on, I found myself, and by proxy Layton, jealous of his outfits and his one-liners. The jokes he makes are so good. I was like, ‘Oh man, I’m mad at you because you’re having more fun than me, and also you’re evil.’ It was so cool.”

Bean is no stranger to being part of worldbuilding and franchises on TV and the big screen. The idea that Snowpiercer could be considered a franchise hadn’t ever really occurred to Diggs.
