Moment Sean Bean, 65, pushes bouncer who 'told him off for vaping' before actor is 'wrestled to the floor and dragged out' of bar during night off from filming new BBC drama

Quote
This is the moment Sean Bean grapples with a bouncer before he is wrestled to the floor and dragged out of a Liverpool bar after allegedly being told off for vaping.

The Game of Thrones star was seen being manhandled by security, one of whom had a hand around the actor's throat, at the Tom Thumb pub last Friday during a night off from filming a new BBC drama in the city.

In the footage the Sharpe actor can be heard being told to 'calm down' before a member of staff tells him to leave the pub.

The 65-year-old is then dragged out of the booth he had been sitting in, with a witness claiming he had to be taken to the ground and forcibly removed.

Bean has been involved in multiple incidents at bars and pubs throughout his career, and on one occasion was even stabbed during a blazing row over a glamour model.

A witness told MailOnline that the latest happened after the Sheffield-born thespian  ignored requests from the bar staff for him to stop vaping indoors.

The eyewitness said: 'I was really surprised and pleased when I first looked up and saw him sitting there.

'When the bouncer went over to him, I thought it was for a photo, but actually he was asking Sean to stop vaping in the bar.

'Sean kept saying he could do what he wanted. To be honest he was being a right a***hole.

'The bouncers were just doing what they do for everyone else - which is fair enough.

'When he came back in he just started vaping again.

'They asked him to leave but he wouldn't. He was just clinging onto his chair.

'I was so shocked by the fight I couldn't move - my jaw just hit the floor.

'I was really saddened by his smugness. He really seemed to feel like he could do what he wanted.'

Bean is filming new gangland drama This City Is Ours in Liverpool.

Sean Bean 'welcome back anytime' at city centre bar after 'vaping row'
Quote
A city centre cocktail bar has said actor Sean Bean is "welcome back anytime" following reports of a "vaping" row with door staff was resolved amicably.

The Game of Thrones star was visiting Tom Thumb cocktail bar on Hardman Street on Friday evening, May 31, when a bouncer reportedly asked him to stop vaping. Video footage shared online shows the Sheffield-born actor in discussion with security staff, who reportedly told him to "calm down."

The ECHO spoke to two witnesses, who asked not to be named but said they were drinking in the bar at the time.

One said: "I was drinking in another bar not too far from Tom Thumb and Sean Bean was there. People were harassing him and he wasn't enjoying himself, so I said to him, 'I know somewhere you can get a drink in peace'."

However, once at Tom Thumb, a situation arose as door staff believed the actor, in Liverpool to work on gangland drama This City is Ours, was vaping inside, the witness claimed.

The witness added: "The bouncer went up to Sean and said 'can I have a word?' He asked him nicely not to vape inside." They said the actor left the bar but went back in and there was a further discussion before he was led out by security.

Tom Thumb has now confirmed that the 65-year-old star and the doorman "shook hands" outside the bar following the disagreement and stressed the incident has been "blown out of proportion".

Ruth Carmichael, owner and operator of Tom Thumb, said: "Sean Bean behaved fine and is a great guy, it was a misunderstanding. Sean Bean and the doorman shook hands outside the bar and Sean is welcome back anytime."

This City is Ours, an eight-part series, is due to be released in 2025, and scenes are also being shot in Spain.
