The match was end to end for 2.5 hours - calling it dull is silly. Yes, goals are - well, the goal - but the midfields did splendidly well at snatching the ball, the defenses at both ends were very good and the keepers on the job. There were chances on the part of both clubs, but most of the action was in the center, not the ends.
The same could be said for the shootout, really. It was back and forth and back and forth - the killer was when they switched direction, which meant that Simonsen had to field two in a row.
After listening to it, I could almost believe that if the coin toss had gone the other way and United had started, the direction switch would probably have resulted in a win for them, instead of the Terriers, simply because their keeper would have had to field two in a row.
It was that even.
versusterminus, you picked a bad moment to be critical. I realize that you're not a Blades supporter - I think you forgot that I am. Have been for many years - followed them up and down tables and leagues and will continue to do so. I understand your comment was a general assessment, and under different circumstances it would have been taken as such - but the match wasn't even into extra time . . . you were poking a stick into a bear-cage.
