Discouraging news from TMB

I would like to make an announcement concerning Carol, perhaps better known to some as Govi, the webmiss of The Mighty Bean. For those of us who have been around the webverse of Sean Bean for some years now, Govi is well known as the founder and webmiss of The Mighty Bean website and fan forums. There is no way to eloquently put this terrible news, so, I am, with permission, quoting directly from Jeanne, TMB's Moominmamma:

Dear Friends,

Carol just called after seeing the lung specialist and sadly, she has had it confirmed that she has lung cancer and it has spread to her spine, hence the agonizing back pain. She asked me to let you all know and being Carol, apologizes for being unable to do it herself right now.

It is not curable and she & Jan now have to decide whether to elect for palliative chemotherapy, which may extend her life a little, but make her feel very sick. They have until next Wednesday to decide and will see the specialist again then.

She has morphine now, so hopes that when it kicks in she will be able to sit at the PC again and be around more.

Carol has been a good friend to me over the past eight years and we have become very close and have been lucky enough to meet up many times.. Dave and I have also visited in Rotterdam and so we know Jan too. Words simply cannot adequately express how we feel.

How does one express themselves after hearing this devastating news. I know that Carol and I have had our philosophical differences over the years, but we eventually came to terms with them, resulting in two distinctly different environments to suit the myriad of Sean Bean fans around the world. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I also had my differences with Carol, but it never made me think less of her as a person.  I am very, very sorry to hear about this and offer my sincere wish that she, with those she loves, are able to make this agonizing decision with a measure of peace and comfort.

I will most certainly keep Carol and her loved ones in my thoughts.  Thank you for letting us know, Sable.

I have never been a member of that site, but I have looked at it from time to time, and I am familar with the name Govi.  I don't know her as well as many of you may, but I still feel that I know her somewhat because of the common bond we share.  I will be thinking of her and hoping for the best for her.

Thank you for relating this news.  There is nothing I can do but start a prayer chain with my bible study group.  Consider that done.  I am so sorry.

I read it on TMB ... It's so terrible news. All thoughts with Her and her family .She is too Young, I'm very sorry.

I think I'm the only sean's fan I don't know TMB, but for others friends, as myo, I know who is govi, I'm sorry about that, illness is always very bad, I know by myself, I don't know her, but I'm sorry, my prayers for her family

06/07 I am so sorry for the weeks long silence. I have been in hospital and diagnozed with unoperable lung cancer and invasions of the spine. The doctors predict I will have another 9 months to live, though no one can be sure.

The Mighty Bean site has been paid for until June 2015. When I feel good I will post ocassionally, after that it will continue, like Nona's great The Compleat Sean Bean, as an archive, then it will disappear. I hope you all understand.

As you all know I am unfortunately no longer able to run this, or any other community. Earlier this week I asked loucifer67 to be my co-maintainer and mod and when I no longer can I'll step back and she will be the owner.

She put a lot of hard work in every comm and forum I have, but let's not forget the other members that have. I am just so very grateful and want to thank you all. It is so very much appreciated!

For me, loucifer67 seems the best choice, I trust her completely and know she is a real Beanie! I hope you will all help and support her.
