Snowpiercer – Season 4
 Back again for its fourth season, Snowpiercer will be filming in Vancouver this March through to August. The drama series is based around the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige. It tells the story of the last survivors left on Earth who board a train called “The Snowpiercer” that travels around the world that is now frozen. Snowpiercer stars Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs.

‘Snowpiercer’: Jennifer Connelly on Melanie’s Fate & Why Wilford Is a ‘Liability’

Melanie and Wilford’s reunion was interesting. It’s so hard to believe Wilford when he says he’s looking out for everyone’s safety. Self-preservation seems like his main focus. Melanie, of course, doesn’t trust him one bit, but if you were a viewer, would you trust Wilford when he says he’s looking out for everyone?

I personally would take everything that he says with a grain of salt. I feel like it’s always an ulterior motive with him.

We don’t see many genuinely good moments from Wilford. He’s a very fun villain, but he’s a villain.

Yeah, I agree. He had that near-death experience — which Mel does too, and I think it does impact her as a person. I’m not sure it has the same effect on Wilford.

Melanie has definitely grown more through the adversity she’s faced than Wilford has.

I think that’s safe to say.

Between Melanie’s return, Alex coming into her own while Melanie was gone, and Layton and the rest of the team running the train fairly successfully, does Melanie think Wilford is still necessary?

Things survived without him all of Season 1. There was just an idea of him. I don’t think his presence is actually critical to the survival of the train. I think he’s more of a wrench in the works, actually. With his agenda, he’s more of a liability in reality. The idea of him still has influence and power. There are still people who are loyal to him, and I think that that has to be managed, and she’s aware that that needs to be managed to an extent. But I think the reality of him is more of a liability.

Jennifer Connelly says 'we see something we haven't yet seen' in Snowpiercer season finale

Melanie's revelation has set up next week's season 3 finale to be a showdown between the forces respectively controlled by herself, Layton, and, of course, Sean Bean's always-scheming and back-on-the-loose Mr. Wilford.

"Again, we have opposing forces and Melanie wants to find a resolution, she doesn't want to be in this situation, an oppositional situation," says Connelly. "But she's willing to stand her ground for what she believes in. I think it's a great episode. We see something that we haven't yet seen in Snowpiercer. It's very exciting. You see something and the passengers see something they haven't seen in so many years. It's pretty thrilling. I think it's a satisfying emotional journey, but then there is something that transpires that nicely draws us into the next season. You kind of go, whoah, what was that? I want to see what that was."

‘Snowpiercer’ Season 3 Finale First Look: Layton Corners Wilford (PHOTO)

Tensions will rise between Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) and Joseph Wilford (Sean Bean) in the Snowpiercer Season 3 finale, airing March 28 on TNT.

In TV Insider’s exclusive first look photo, Layton corners Wilford, who poisoned armed guards to escape custody in Episode 9. In the finale, Layton and the newly rescued Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) fight for control of Snowpiercer as it heads for the horn of Africa, which they’re calling New Eden.

Check out the photo from the Snowpiercer Season 3 finale, “The Original Sinners,” below. As you can see, Layton has found the elusive Wilford, who Connelly warns is one of the train’s biggest liabilities.

I can't remember if I have said this before, but, I kinda hope Wilford dies in the season finale. Sean Bean is by far the best part of Snowpiercer. While it is an enjoyable show, it is not exceptional. Selfishly, I want him to move on to better projects.
